Receiving the ball in a small sided game (6v6)

DESCRIPTION OF PRACTICE:
A 6v6 small sided game. A simple demonstration of game organization , management and control using Q&A technique to improve players understanding of the key factors relating to receiving and controlling the ball in a real game situation. The control should be executed as the precursor to turning, dribbling, passing or shooting. This session should clearly identify the need for demonstration and rehearsal in clearly and accurately recreated situations.
ORGANISATION:
60 X 40 6 V 6 (1-2-2-1)	A SSG (6v6) including GKs on an area roughly 60x40 depending on age, ability and previous experience of the players. Start position can be from the Goalkeepers. No restrictions. Allow some free play to observe. Explain control methods for the game. Work through key factors in logical sequence

KEY OBSERVATION FACTORS:

Create space as a team (Mobility, Width & Depth) Create and exploit space as an individual to receive or for a team mate to receive((mobility, penetration) Receiving techniques (body position, first touch, quality of touch, 1 touch, setting up the next move) End product( Pass ,shot, run, dribble)

NOTES:

This is all about getting into position to receive and controlling the ball effectively to exploit the teams possession of the ball.
