We all consider these endgames as very
simple. But, when I was writing a chapter
for Chess Endgame Encyclopedia 25 years
ago I found a lot of interesting things and
even some precise theoretical manoevres
which have to be conducted there. I created
even one small study, but practice is really
much more exciting and highly educational.
There are two main theoretical positions:
