Origin  

Width of the calcaneal tuberosity between 
the medial and lateral calcaneal 
tuberosities; deep surface of the lateral 
plantar fascia; fibrous band extending from 
the calcaneus to the lateral side of the 
base of the 5th metatarsal 

Insertion  

Joins the flexor digit minimi brevis to 
attach to the lateral aspect of the base of 
the proximal phalanx of the 5th toe 

Actions  

Abducts the 5th toe; may assist in flexing 
5th toe 

Nerve  

Lateral plantar (tibial) nerve
