Patient position: seated
Place joint to be taped in mid joint
position.
Apply a 3cm-length tape with paper-
off to very light (10-15%) available
tension to the anterior surface of the
PIP joint. Apply the ends of the
Kinesio Tex with no tension.
Extend the MCP, PIP, and DIP joints.
Apply the base of a 5cm-length tape
to the base of the finger.
Apply the tail of the tape with light to
moderate (25-50%) available tension
perpendicular to the first layer. Apply
the end of the Kinesio Tex with no
tension.
