Materials - Merino 105 from Austermann 
100% Merino Wool superfine, each ball = approx 105 m/ 50 g 
150g Color 310 natur (natural) 

 

1 set (5) dpn sizes 4,5, 5,5, 7, 10 and 12 mm (US 7, 9, 10 ½, 15 and 17) from Schoeller + Stahl 
 
Basic Pat:  
Garter st in rnds (alternate K 1 rnd, P 1 rnd) 
 
Instructions: 
With 12 mm (US 17) needles and 6 strands cast on 30 sts. Divide sts evenly over 4 needles, join and work 6 rnds in Garter st. 
Change to 10 mm (US 15) needles and 4 strands and work 4 rnds in Garter st. Change to 7 mm (US 10 ½) needles and 3 
strands and work 3 rnds in Garter st. Change to 5,5 mm (US 9) needles and 2 strands and work 3 rnds in Garter st. Change to 
4,5 mm (US 7) needles and 1 strand and work 3 rnds in Garter st. P 1 rnd. K next rnd, dec 7 sts evenly around. On next rnd, 
work P2tog around. Cut yarn and draw through rem sts.  
Finishing: 
Make a 10 cm/4” Pompon and sew to top of hat.
