Air Conditioning Evaporator Condensate Drain 
If your XM has Air Conditioning and the carpet gets wet in the front footwells, it may be the 
condensate drain from the evaporator section. As the evaporator cools the air condensation 
forms on the fins and dribbles down into the collection tray at the bottom. A plastic tube 
connects on to the outlet pipe as shown and leads the water away out of the car. It is possible 
for the tube to become disconnected from the spigot.
