100% Wool, each ball = approx 100 m/ 50 g
900 (900/950) g in Color 08 krokus (crocus)
Knitting needles 4, 4½, 5, 5½, 6, 7, 8 and 9 mm (US 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10 ½, 11 and 13) from
Schoeller + Stahl
Take time to check gauge! (Change needle size if necessary)
Rib Pat:
K1, P1 Rib
Basic Pat: (Gauge: 17 sts and 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”)
St st with 5 mm (US 8) needles
Brioche Pat:
Row 1 (RS): Sl 1 st, *K1 in row below, P1; rep from *.
Row 2: Sl 1 st, * P1, K1 in row below; rep from *, end with P1, K1.
Rep rows 1 and 2.
Instructions:
With 5 mm (US 8) needles cast on 150 (158/166) sts and work in Basic Pat. After 48 (50/52) cm/19 (19 ½ /20 ½)” from beg, bind
off.
With 4 mm (US 6) needles, pick up 78 (84/88) sts over center 34 (36/38) cm/13 ½ (14/15)” along the narrow sides and work 3
rows in Basic Pat, 6 rows Rib Pat and then cont in Brioche Pat. After every 4 cm/1 ½” in Brioche Pat, change to one size larger
needle. When height is 29 cm/11 ½”, with largest needle bind off all sts. Sew side and sleeve seams. Along the half of the lower
edge (from side seam to side seam) pick up 211 (221/231) sts with 4 mm needles and work 3 rows in Basic Pat, 6 rows Rib Pat
and cont in Brioche Pat. After every 3 cm/1 ¼” in Brioche Pat, change to one size larger needle. When height is 24 cm/9 ½”,
with largest needle, bind off sts loosely. Work along the other half in same way. Sew side seams.
