Bernat® Waverly® (100 g/3.5 oz; 180 m/197 yds)

Sizes 4 mm (U.S. 6) and 5 mm (U.S. 8) circular knitting needles, 24" 
[60 cm] long or size needed to obtain gauge. Stitch marker. Stitch 
holder. Cable needle.

GAUGE

18 sts and 24 rows = 4" [10 cm] with larger needles in stocking st.

Divide for hood opening:

 Next rnd: Pat across 6 sts. Slip next 28 sts 

onto a st holder. Rejoin yarn to rem sts and pat to end of rnd. Pat across 
first 6 sts. 54 sts total.
Keeping cont of pat, proceed in rows (working back and forth across 
needle) until work from dividing rnd measures 7½" [19 cm], ending 
with a WS row.
Divide sts onto 2 needles (27 sts on each needle). 

Hood and Neck edging:

 With RS facing and smaller circular needle, 

beg at hood seam, pick up and knit 33 sts down side edge of Hood. K28 
from st holder, dec 6 sts evenly across. Pick up and knit 33 sts up side 
edge of Hood. 88 sts. Join in rnd, placing marker on 1st st.

1st rnd: *K2. P2. Rep from * around.
Rep last rnd (K2. P2) ribbing 5 times more. 
Cast off in ribbing.
Fold Sack flat and sew lower cast on edge closed.
