Origin  

Anterior surface of the sternum, 
sternocostal cartilage of ribs 1-7, 
aponeurosis of the external oblique 
muscle 

Insertion  

Crest of the greater tubercle of the 
humerus 

Actions  

The clavicular fibers are more anterior and 
caudal on the crest than the sternocostal 
fibers which twist on themselves and are 
more posterior and cranial 

Nerve  

Lateral and Medial Pectoral Nerves
