Instructions: Print on cardstock and laminate. Keep first page intact; 
cut out squares on second page (x’s).  
 
Show the child the pictures and have them decide which picture is 
different, or doesn’t belong, with the other three. Have them put a 
red “x” on the one that doesn’t belong. 
 
For a further extension, you can talk about why the fourth item  
doesn’t belong with the others.  This helps children start to observe 
the qualities of things around them, and what makes something  
different or the same compared to other things.
