Materials Needed 



 

Your choice of colors of Worsted Weight Yarn (I used Red Heart Super 
Saver) 



 

J Hook 



sc- single crochet  



 

hdc- half double crochet  



 

ss- slip stitch  



 

ch- chain  



 

st- stitch  



 

dc- double crochet 



 

This pattern uses a Magic Circle. If you do not know how to do a Magic 
Circle, there are great video tutorials on youtube. Otherwise, you can begin 
your hats with “ch 2, hdc _ in 2

nd 

chain from hook, join with a ss.”

 

Pattern: 

This pattern is worked in the round, DO NOT JOIN at the end of rounds unless 
otherwise stated. 

TOE 

With J hook and Color A, make a Magic Circle, ch 1 

Round 1 hdc 8 in circle, pull closed (8) 

Round 2 2hdc in each st (16) 

Round 3 *hdc, 2hdc in next st* around (24) 

Round 4 *hdc next 2 st, 2hdc in next st* around (32) 

Round 5-14 hdc in each st around (32) 

Round 15 hdc 30, sc 1, ss in last, fasten off 

 

 

HEEL 

Join Color B anywhere on the last round of the toe with a ss 

Row 1 hdc 18, ch 1, turn 

Row 2-12 hdc 18, ch 1, turn 

Turn stocking inside out and ch 1. Sc along the open edge of heel, fasten off, turn 
back to right side out. 

 

 

 

 

BODY 

Join color C anywhere along opening of stocking, ch 1 

Round 1 hdc in each st around, join, ch 1 

Round 2 hdc in each st around, join, do not ch 1 

*CHANGE TO COLOR A HERE* 

Round 3- 22 hdc in each st around, DO NOT JOIN 

Round 23 hdc in each st around until there are 2 st left, sc in next, ss in next, 
fasten off 

*CHANGE TO COLOR C HERE* 

Round 24 hdc in each st around 

Round 25 hdc in each st until heel edge is reached, ch 20, continue to hdc in each 
st around (the ch 20 forms the loop to hang your stocking with) 

 

Round 26- 33 hdc in each st around 

Round 34 hdc in each st around until 2 st left, sc in next, ss in next, ch 2 

Round 35 dc in each st around, join, ch 1 

Round 36 sc in each st around, join, fasten off. 

Fold Color C portion down to form cuff. 

 

TIE 

With Color B, chain 100, fasten off. Weave chain thru the dc row on stocking cuff 
and tie a bow.
