Town and Countryside: Teacher’s Notes

Target Structure:

Much, many, a lot of, (un)countable nouns

Vocabulary:

General

Level:

Elementary

Time:

30 minutes

Preparation:

None

Suggested Teaching Method:

While the topic is easy, it is difficult for students to produce this target
structure in conversation. This worksheet provides controlled practice as
well as personalization of the structure.

This exercise is good for homework, having already pre-taught the key
structures; countable and uncountable, much, many and a lot.

Give out the worksheet, and ask students to complete the rest of the
exercises in the standard way. The final part could be set as homework. If
you choose to mark this, you could try a homework correction game as a
follow-up.
