Mindless One Skein Scarf

Two things to remember.
I’m self-taught and there
is a 99% chance I’m doing
something backwards. I
apologize. 2) I’m terrible
about following patterns,
let alone actually writing
them. Please keep that in
mind, and if you find that
something doesn’t make
sense, feel free to ask!  It’s
pretty simple really, and
nice and mindless once
you get the rhythm of it.
This has been my go-to

for when I need a project that requires little thinking. And, the result is quite nice, if I do say so
myself. This patterns works out to a pretty decent mid-size scarf. The purple and green scarves
were made with Caron Simply Soft, both just under a full skein. They each came to 4.5-5 feet long.
Change up your yarn and/or hook size to personalize it even more.

Materials:

I used WW yarn and an I hook, which resulted in an approximately 5” wide, 5’ long scarf with just
under a full skein, but really it depends on preference. I recommend playing around with different
yarns/hooks until you achieve a result you like.

Instructions:

CH  a multiple of 3, plus 4 (I’ve been starting with 19, 3x5+4 for an approx. 5” wide scarf)

Row 1: 2DC, CH2, SC all in the 4th CH from your hook, *skip 2 chains, (2DC, CH2, SC)* repeat from *
to *, CH3, turn

Row 2: (2DC, CH2, SC) in the CH2 space from previous row. Repeat across. CH3, turn.

Simply repeat row 2 until desired length. To finish off I CH2 and SS into the row below the one I just
completed.
