When your real interviewee sits down youʼll have to adjust the seating position and 
the lighting as hair, complexion and female to male will have an impact on your 
lighting set up Adding colour to a background light adds further dimension and 
creates perceived depth to your shot

Turn lights off to see effect of 
practical lamps in vision

When lighting a VIP interview you are better to build up your lighting in zones adding 
one lamp at a time to see what each is doing in turn. It can be helpful to turn off all 
lights and look at each one in turn that way you can isolate the effect of each light you 
are using.  That way you only light what you need to.
