an  old  word  and  is  found  in  other  languages

Conjunctions usage in Indonesian is quite similar to English.  In most cases, the 
sentence structure is identical to that of English.  Conjunctions allow you to string 
together more complex statements and speak in conditions as opposed to 
absolutes.  This leads to more natural and fluent speech.
