Materials: 

 

Yarn: 

Worsted or aran weight yarn. I’ve used two strands of worsted weight yarn held together, only for arms, 

horn and embellishments I’ve used one strand of yarn. Colours: skin, pink, light green, white and for horn of 
unicorn: purple and blue. 

 

Crochet Hook: 

5.0 mm

Fairy 

Hair, head and dress are made in one piece, starting with bun. 
Begin with pink for hair, with two strands of yarn.

Rnd 2: turn, 4sc 
Rnd 3: turn, sc2tog 2 times. 
Attach to horse’s head in rnd 11. 
 
 

 

Manes: 

Rnd 1: with two strands of pink: ch12 
Rnd 2: turn, sc in 2

nd

 ch from hook, 10sc 

Rnd 3: ch1, 10sc. 
Now take the dog brush and start brushing this little strip of crochet until it really looks like hair. Now attach strip to 
horse’s head, starting one row before ears.  

 
 

Unicorn Horn 

With one thread in: 

, Rnd 1: start with a magic loop, 5sc in loop (5) 

Purple

Pink

, Rnd 2: sc around (5) 

Blue

, Rnd 3: 1sc, *2sc in next, 1sc* repeat around (7) 

Green

, Rnd 4: sc around (7) 

Leave a long tail to sew horn on unicorn head, directly in front of manes. 

 

 

Arms: (make 2)

 

 

Rnd 1: with skin colour, one strand of yarn, start with a magic loop, 6sc in loop (6) 
Rnd 2 – 3: sc around (6) 
Rnd 4: change to light green,  sc around (6) 
Rnd 5 – 11: sc around (6) 
Cut yarn but leave a long tail to attach arms with. 
 
You don’t have to stuff the arms, that will keep them more flexible. Attach arms 
in row 24. While attaching the arms, sew through the neck a few times to close 
the gap. 
 

 

Wings: (make 2)

 

 

Rnd 1: With two strands of white, ch20, sc in 2nd ch from hook, 2sc, skip 2, 7tr 
in next, skip 2, 3 sl st, skip 2, 7tr in next, skip 2, 2sc, 3sc in last, go around the 
corner and continue in other side of chain: 
ch1l, 3dc, 7tr in stitch where you allso crocheted the 7tr on the other side, skip 
2, (sc2tog x 2), 7tr in stitch where you allso crocheted the 7tr on the other side, 
skip 2, 2dc, (1hdc and 2sc in last) sl st in first. 
Leave a long tail to attach wings. Make second pair of wings. Place the two 
wing pieces on top of each other 
Now take one strand of pink and crochet sl st in each stitch all around wings 
and through both layers. 
Now sew in place in rnd 24 and 25. 
 
 

Star: 

With one strand of green, Start with a magic loop, in loop: *1sc, 1dc, ch2, 1dc* 
repeat four more times and sl st in first sc to join. Leave a long tail to tie around 
bun and sew in place. 
 
Embroider mouth and your fairy is done!
