Chapter 1

The loud pop of his tire blowing and the truck

suddenly pulling to the side as he drove down the highway

world seemed to be crumbling around him. He had no job,

and only friend. What little money he had in savings was

to prickle his eyes as he tried to hold them back. He would

"What the hell am I going to do now?" Brian asked

him. As he looked in the rear-view mirror, he noticed a

police car had pulled up behind him.

better and better. I'll bet he's going to tell me it's illegal to

break down on this stretch of the highway."

Marcus pulled into the driveway of the house he

shared with his three brothers and groaned. Of course all

his brothers had to be home. God, they hadn't all been

home at the same time in weeks. Why did they choose now

It was Simon who replied first. "I suggest you haul

ass and try to find him. Call George from Den Motors and

see if he gave the guy a tow. He might know where he

went. If you're lucky and you find your mate, he might just

forgive you in about a hundred years with a lot of

Not even thinking, he jumped to his feet, pulled out

his phone and dialled George while running to his car.
