Unit 1 Principles SAFE, HYGIENIC AND SECURE WORKING ENVIRONMENTS IN HOSPITALITY

Unit 1. Principles

    1. Be sure that the reception is clean- isn’t any dirt on the front desk. Check the stairs and the front hall that on the floor isn’t any liquids or stains which because of them is slippery and dangerously. Wear nice and clean shirt to be look very good for the guests.



    1. Be sure that every devices working well (security cameras, fire alarm, door lock).



    1. Always have phone with you in the case of illness to call for help e.g. for ambulance. Inform your general manager about whole situation.





Unit 2

2.1. Because you work in customer service with guests and you must look nice to know that gusts like your outfit and don’t afraid to be talking with you and asking about everything



2.2. To good looking for the guest.



2.3. To the general manager or to appropriate services : Fire Brigade, Emergency etc.



2.4. It’s important to followed of ergonomic moves: if you want to lift something, bend the knees first. Not lift large and heavy items without bending the legs etc.



2.5. Because might be something bad happened for example the lost luggage might be a bomb, the slipper stairs might be dangerous for the guests, the unlocked door might be good opportunity for the thief



Unit 3

3.1. Ergonomic hazards: poor light, frequent lifting, awkward movements
chemical hazards: cleaning products and solvents, gases, flammable materials
etc.



3.2. The guest might be getting ill, could be start a fire etc.



3.3. If someone stops breathing, see if the person replies if talked to or touched on the shoulder.
If not, call for help – and immediately begin first aid
Place the person on his or her back on the floor.

Tilt the head, so that the chin is pointing upwards. This is done to make sure the tongue is not blocking the throat.

Keep holding the head in this way while checking for breathing. Look if the chest is rising and falling, or place your ear next to their mouth to listen for breathing and feel breath on your cheek. Only check for 10 seconds.

If there's normal breathing, hold the head as described above until help arrives. If there's no breathing or gasping breaths, start basic life support.

Put your hand in the middle of the chest. Press down for 4-5 cm. Do this 30 times. Then breath slowly the air into the mouth and lounge of the ill person. Do this 2 ties. If you can’t feel the breath repeat whole sequence.

3.4. Someone smoke in his room, something’s burn in the kitchen

3.5. When the fire alarm start on a day it must to reset, and impute to the silence or impute the code and press silence and then call to engineer (depends of the buildings)
When the alarm goes off during the night – evacuate the building and call the Fire Brigade



3.6. Be sure of the locking door and the windows, the fire alarm is working good, also the cameras. Print the guests list in the case of fire.
