Pakistan supports ISAF after cross-border attack

KABUL, Afghanistan (November 20) — ISAF has coordinated actions with the Pakistani military after insurgents fired rockets from Pakistan and hit a remote ISAF combat outpost and a nearby Afghan border checkpoint in Paktika province Nov. 18.

The ISAF outpost and the Afghan checkpoint each were hit with two artillery rounds. After the attacks, ISAF contacted the Pakistani military for support. The Pakistani military then launched a mortar strike on the insurgents' firing location inside Pakistan.

There have been no reports of ISAF or Pakistani military casualties.
