TOPIC / THEME: Small - Sided Game - End Zone Game
DESCRIPTION OF PRACTICE:
The game is designed to improve player's dribbling and ability to beat players in 1 v 1 situations
ORGANISATION:
Pitch size: 40m x 30m with two 5m end zones
3 teams of four players each
3 sets of bibs
A whistle and watch to start and stop
Extra balls with the Coach for continuity
Two teams play and the other team's players are positioned on the outside of either side of the pitch
One player from each team must stay in the attacking half to give structure to the game
Teams change on the Coach's signal
KEY OBSERVATION FACTORS:
Create space as an individual or as a team
Head up while in possession - look to keep possession to create 1 v 1 situations
Exploit space by dribbling with the ball or by exploiting 1 v 1 situations
NOTES:
Try and not stop the game too much (use natural breaks)
Encourage the team in possession to use the players on the outside
Outside players must move up and down the side of the pitch to help keep possession
If a goal is scored reward the scoring team by giving them the ball at restart
Change outside team every 2 minutes
