Subject:  Park Brake Cable Retainer Clip

A new retainer clip has been introduced on the  Bendix  10 1/4  X 2 1/4 brake assemblies.   It is used in
conjunction with lever 198429 to retain the park brake cable.  Cables used prior to the release of the clip were
equipped with a retaining spring, the new cables are not.

Part numbers for both arrangements are listed below, but only the new style P/Ns are shown in the illustration.

Note:  Although retainer 1358222 is not required when using the original  cable,  it  may  be  used  to  provide
additional  cable retention.

Interchangeability:  The original cable may be replaced by the new cable, however, the retainer must be used
with the new cable.
