This document has been provided as a quick reference sheet of useful online tools and resources. The
listings below are a collection of sites that will help you with your search engine optimisation efforts.

MAJOR SEARCH ENGINE SUBMISSION URLS

Description

Adding your site directly to Google itself can be highly benefical although not necessary. I would
encourage however that this be done to cover all bases. Google has recently changed the submission of
website addresses, and now force user login, before being able to process the request. This means, that
in order to submit your website’s url, you must have an active Google account.

YAHOO

Description

The process for submitting your url to Yahoo is typically the same as both Google and Bing. Again, as
with Google, Yahoo forces user login before processing the request, so an active Yahoo account is
required.

BING

Description

Bing provides both an anonymous submission as well as an account driven option. The process is very
straightforward – simply enter your websites url, and confirm the captcha code, and the process is
completed. I encourage the submission of all three major search engines.

Is My Site Indexed is a useful online tool that I use every time I’m wanting to quickly index a new website
within Google. This tool is very easy to use. Simply enter in your websites URL then press submit. This
then queries a host of directories that are continually crawling and indexing the web. Typically I can have
newly created sites indexed within just a matter of hours using Is My Site Indexed. For a demonstration
of how this achieved please refer to Module 9, within the training course.

check any and all work submitted by writers that I may have hired to ensure they havent simply copied
content from the web. Its important that you check all work handed over before you publish it to your own
site. This is an online tool I highly recommend.

PLAGIARISM CHECKER

This is another great service that checks for copied content. This one works very similar to article
checker above, but lets you search directly within the search engines. This is another plagiarism check
that I would recommend if article checker is down or unavailable.

Scribd is very similar to DocStoc, except that it’s targeted more toward individual users. Scribd claims
that it’s the largest document sharing community with over 17 million people per month viewing
documents.

Google Docs allows users to share and collaborate around documents. From a document reuse
perspective, the Google Docs Templates is of most interest here since it makes hundreds of different
