«SlovoEd» for Series 60
About the program
«SlovoEd» is a multi-language dictionary for NOKIA 7650/3650/6600. The advantages of the program are:
Great number of word entries
Low memory consumption
The possibility to install several language pairs
Convenient color interface
Color formatting of word entries
Search history (last words that you searched). You can see any word from the history again at
any time
Transcription support (only in «MultiLex» dictionaries)
The possibility to install «SlovoEd» on memory cards (only for NOKIA 3650/6600)

Registration and demo version limitations
The more you use an unregistered dictionary, the more you see a message about its registration procedure. To
register your copy of the dictionary, enter your serial number in the dialog box Options > Register:
Each installed dictionary should be registered with its own serial number. The serial number you will get
after buying the dictionary you want to use.
Installation
ATTENTION:
• Don’t forget to perform backup of all your data before installation of a new program (including
“SlovoEd”)! It will help you to avoid casual data loss.
• The device Nokia 7650/3650/6600 has the following feature. To install a program on this device, there
should be 3 times as much free space in the main memory of the device as the program installation file
takes. Because of this fact we offer you 2 ways of dictionary installation: the standard way of the
installation from a *.SIS file if there is enough free space on your device, and the other way of the
installation from a *.EXE file (we recommend you to follow this way).
To install «SlovoEd» from your desktop computer via Infrared port you should do the following:
1. Connect your device with the desktop computer using the program PC Suite.
2. Start the dictionary installation file on your desktop computer.
3. Follow the instructions of the installation wizard.
4. For NOKIA 3650/6600: In the window shown in the picture below you should choose where the
dictionary should be installed: in the main memory of your device (disk C) or on memory card (card
D).

5. For NOKIA 3650/6600: In the window shown in the picture below you should choose a language of
the dictionary interface. It means that you should choose a language in which menu items of the
dictionary and other interface elements will be shown to you on your NOKIA.
After the installation process, the icon of the dictionary «SlovoEd» will appear in the list of all installed
applications.
ATTENTION:
On devices NOKIA 6600, the dictionary «SlovoEd» distributed by Paragon Software
(SHDD) is not compatible with the appropriate dictionary Try&Buy supplied on memory cards. These two
dictionaries run independently.

How to use «SlovoEd»
The “SlovoEd” icon is placed in main menu of your device. After starting the SlovoEd program the screen of
your communicator will appear as follows:
The elements of the program interface are shown in the pictures below:
1. Edit
field.
2. List of words available in the dictionary.
3. Found
result.
4. Transcription.
5. Translation of the word entry. All the meanings of translation are numbered.
6. Translation

7. Title of the active dictionary.

9. Options menu from the main window contains following elements:
• History. In this item you can look through the list of the words that you searched before and to select
one if necessary.
• Choose dictionary menu item allows you to set any of available dictionaries as an active one.
• Wildcard search. You can search for doubtful words using a mask. Question-mark (?) could be used
instead of a single character and asterisk (*) instead of any character or group of characters. You can
use quotes (“…”) for exact requests. If you enter a word in quotes, «SlovoEd» will search a word
that completely coincides with your request. If you input quote mark only at the beginning/end of the
word, «SlovoEd» will search a word the beginning/end of which completely coincides with your
request. If you enter a word without quotes, the program will search for words as if * were added at
the beginning and at the end of your request.
• Dictionary info. Title of the active dictionary and registration info.
• About. Information about program version.
• Register. In this item you can register your copy of the dictionary databases.
• Exit. Exit from the dictionary.
10. Exit menu. Exit from the dictionary.
11. Options menu from translation window contains following elements:
• History back. One word back item.
• Settings. In this item you can tune some view options such as Text size (Small, Normal or Big), and
Full screen mode (Yes or No).
• Exit. Exit from the dictionary.
12. Back menu. Return to the main window.

There is an edit field at the bottom of the SlovoEd window. Using phone keypad, you can type there a word
that you want to translate. To get translation of the word you should press joystick. If the dictionary contains
the word that you entered, you will see translation of the word in the translation window.
You can look through the list of words contained in the dictionary by moving joystick Up and Down.
You can get translation of any word from the translation window. If you want to get translation of a word
from the translation field, set cursor on it and press joystick. The dictionary will show you translation of that
word.
Uninstallation
To completely uninstall the dictionary from your device you should do the following:
1. Open
Tools > Manager from the main menu (App Manager on NOKIA 6600). Choose the
dictionary.
2. Choose
Options > Remove.
ATTENTION:
Because of the Nokia 7650/3650/6600 OS, it’s impossible to uninstall only one dictionary. If you want to
change the list of dictionaries, uninstall all SlovoEd components, and reinstall dictionaries needed.
