1 Last night the results were finally announced of the final 
of Boyband of the YearBoize, who were leading after four 
weeks of competition, went home disappointed as a result 
of the lead singer’s illness. The rest of the band did their 
best and went ahead with the show, but it wasn’t enough, 
and they were beaten in the final vote by just 5 points. 

2 The pianist, Eva Richie, first appeared on the music 
scene at the remarkably young age of 12 just two years 
ago. Last night, in a surprise presentation, halfway 
through Eva’s recital, the world famous conductor, 
Robert Richter, announced the results of an international 
competition, in which Eva got second place. A 
representative of the judges presented Eva with her 
award and a cheque for $5000.

3 On Friday night we watched the last episode in the 
series of Can You Take It? The idea for the show was to 
put contestants in separate small rooms with their ‘pet 
hates’. After a week only 2 of the original 7 remained. 
When they finally got out, one from a room full of 
spiders, the other from a room with cockroaches, both 
were pleased it was over. The winners did not get any 
rewards but they stressed that it was a great experience 
which helped them overcome their fears. 

5 The family of David Jones, injured during last month’s 
Grand Prix race, have thanked the organisers of Sing 
With the Stars
 show for persuading international star, Will 
Andrews, to take part in the celebrity auction aimed at 
raising funds for David’s medical treatment.Celebrities 
will pay to sing the unforgettable Frank Sinatra song, 
My Way, with Will. It is believed that they are paying up 
to £1,500 to help David.

4 This year’s Pantomime in the Park was a great success 
thanks to pleasant temperatures and record-breaking 
donations from enthusiastic ticket-holders. Local 
celebrities from the world of entertainment spent several 
weeks preparing for the spectacle: a musical version of 
Cinderella. All the money raised will help build a regional 
school of performing arts.
