Perkins recently changed the rear oil seal on all 3.152 engines. The new rear lip sealed engines will require
additional parts when installed in units with engine serial numbers prior to 152U-21039CL. Perkins 3.152
engines with this engine serial number and above will have the new seal arrangement.
All engines with the new rear lip seal will carry the suffix “L” on the end of the engine serial number for a
period of one year. Perkins has labeled all lip sealed engines with the words “Lip” or “Lip Sealed” for
easier identification.
Additional parts required for installation of the new rear lip sealed engines in units prior to the engine serial
nunber break are as follows:
