Tape Specification     

KT Method

 

Patient position: seated with the 
shoulder flexed to 90 degrees, neutral 
rotation, and elbow flexed to 30 
degrees.  

Apply the base of the Kinesio Tex one 
fingerbreadth distal to the olecranon 
process.  

Stabilize the base of the Kinesio Tex 
and apply downward pressure to 
increase tissue tension. 

 

Maximally horizontally adduct the 
shoulder at 90 degrees to increase 
tissue tension.  

Apply the tape along the medial head 
of the triceps brachii and the posterior 
border of the deltoid to attach over the 
musculotendinous border of the 
infraspinatus and teres minor on the 
lateral scapula. 

 

Completed Kinesio Tex application: 
posteromedial upper arm superficial 
fascia
