Kung Fu Panda™ 3-D Paper Character

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS 

Time to Complete: Approximately 45 minutes 
Level: Medium 

 
GETTING STARTED

 

 
Materials: 
• Metal-edged ruler 
• Butter knife 
• Scissors or X-ACTO knife 
• Cutting mat (optional) 
• Multipurpose glue 

 

 

1. Score all the pieces: Using a ruler as a guide,  
run the back side of a butter knife firmly along all  
the dotted lines. 

 

 

 

2. Using scissors or an X-ACTO knife and cutting mat, 
cut out all pieces along the solid lines. 
 

 

 

 
ASSEMBLE THE HEAD 

 

 

 

 

 

3. Fold dotted lines on head (1) into mountain and valley folds as indicated on all pieces.

  

 

 

 

 

 

4. Overlap lip tabs until graphics are aligned and glue in place. Make sure that the long 
triangular flap is tucked underneath lip tabs, creating the curve of the nose. 

 

 

 

 

 

 
5. Tuck tab A under lip section and glue in place. Repeat with tab B.  
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

 

 
6. Tuck tab C under adjacent edge and glue in place. Repeat with tab D.

7. Tuck tab E under adjacent edge and glue in place. Repeat with tab F. 

 

 
8. Tuck tabs K and L under adjacent edge and glue in place. 

 

 
9. To close up head piece, glue tabs G, H, I, and J in place. 

 

 
10. Glue separate mouth piece (2) onto the head’s mouth panel. Glue tongue (3) and 
flower pieces (4) in place as shown. 

 
ASSEMBLE THE BODY 

 

 

 

 

 
11. Starting at the top tab of the body top piece (5), glue A tabs to the left body side (6), 
curving the paper as you work. 

 

 

 
12. Next, glue the body bottom’s (7) B tabs to the right body side (8).

13. Carefully attach the top body piece, gluing the tabs on both sides and ends as you 
work your way down from the top.  

 
ASSEMBLE THE TAIL 

 

                

 

 

 
14. Starting at the top, glue the tabs on the right side tail piece (9) to the bottom tail piece 
(10), curving the paper as you work. 

 

 

 

 
15. Repeat with tabs on the left side tail piece (11). 

 

 
16. Carefully attach the top tail piece (12), gluing the tabs on both sides as you work your 
way down from the top. 

 
FINISHING TOUCHES 

 

 

 

 

 
17. Glue the tail to the body. 

 

 
18. Glue the head to the body. Allow the pieces to dry. You’re done!
