S

10 days. But I’ve been in hospital for 2 days.

D

Yes, that’s right. Have you still got a cough?

S

D

OK. Can I check your temperature, please? …

No. You haven’t got a temperature. That’s good.

Do you have a stomach ache?

S

Yes, I do. But it isn’t too bad.

D

OK. I think that’s because of the antibiotics. You

need a lot of antibiotics for a chest infection. I

think you can go home this afternoon. I can tell

your parents to come to the hospital.

S

That’s great, thanks.

D

But you can’t go back to school until next week.

You need to sleep and rest for a few more days.

S

Ok, doctor.

D

Good. Come back and see me next week when

B

Horror, action and war films. I love horror. I like

feeling really scared!

G

I prefer science fiction films – I don’t like to feel

scared!

2

B

What are you doing?

G

I’m watching TV.

B

It’s a nice day today. You shouldn’t watch TV all

afternoon.

G

Ok, what would you like to do?

B

Why don’t we go to the park and play football?

G

I don’t want to play football … but I’ll play

tennis.

B

OK, I’ll get my ball!

G

Oh no I haven’t got my tennis racket. I left it at

Rachel’s house.

B

It’s OK. We can go and get it. She lives near the

D

There’s a good film on at the cinema tonight.

Shall we go and see it, kids?

G

What is it?

D

Minions

B

Oh that sounds good. It’s one of the Despicable

W

But Don … isn’t grandma coming to visit

tonight? We’re all having dinner with her.

D

Oh yes! I forgot. Well after dinner we can watch

Hi, Rory. Did you see The Simpsons on TV last

night?

R

No, I didn’t. Is it a good programme?

L

Yes, it’s great! You should watch it! It was really

funny.

R

I watched a programme called Science for Kids.

It was interesting. Then I watched Newsround.

Do you know that programme? It’s the news for

children.

L

I don’t know it. Do you always have to watch

serious programmes? Don’t you like any funny

programmes?

R

Of course! I saw a good film at the weekend –

Night at the Museum 2.

L

That sounds serious, too!

R

It wasn’t. It was a comedy! Very funny.

L

I saw a good film, too. It was called The Day the

Earth Stood Still.

R

Well, that doesn’t sound like a comedy …

L

No, it wasn’t! It was a science fiction film. It

was great, but a bit scary. And I’m going to see

another one called The Maze Runner next week.

R

I like science fiction films. But I love action films

best. James Bond is my favourite.

Yes, I did. It was great. The view from the top

L

G

We visited some famous places like 5th Avenue

Yes! I bought some cool clothes. Oh, and we

went roller skating in Central Park! That was fun.

a monkey. And my Aunt Vanessa is taking a

picture of her. One of those monkeys in the trees

stole Vanessa’s camera!
