REMOVAL

1.

Disconnect the negative (-)battery terminal.

When removing the high tensioner lead, be sure to pull on the boot itself, not the wire.

2.

Disconnect the high tension leads from the spark plugs by twisting the boot about a quarter of a turn and then pulling off.

3.

Use compressed air to blew away any dirt or debris from around the spark plug hole.

4.

Make sure that the spark plug socket fits squarely on the spark plug then remove.

INSPECTION

1.

Check for the following

A.

damaged instulation

B.

worn electrodes

C.

carbon desposits

D.

damaged gaskets

E.

burnt spark insulator

F.

plug gap

Plug gap : 0.028-0.031inch(0.70-0.80mm)

2.

Clean or replace if necessary.
