Tape Specification

KT Method



Patient position: standing



Apply the base of the Kinesio Tex to
the medial border of the proximal 1/3
of the adductor muscle group and
over the femoral triangle.



Stabilize the base of the Kinesio Tex
and apply downward pressure to
increase tissue tension.



Extend and laterally flex the trunk to
the same side to increase tissue
tension.



Stabilize the base of the Kinesio Tex
and apply downward pressure to
increase tissue tension.



Apply the middle third of the Kinesio
Tex three fingerbreadths lateral to the
umbilicus, over the psoas major.



Ask the patient to take a
diaphragmatic breath to expand the
abdomen.



Stabilize the base of the Kinesio Tex
and apply downward pressure to
increase tissue tension.



Apply the rest of the Kinesio Tex
along the inferior border of the rib
cage.



Completed Kinesio Tex application:
abdomen-anterior thigh fascia
